Engineer of roads, canals and ports
Alejandro Nogales graduated with a degree in Public Works Engineering in 2014 and later completed a master's degree in Road, Channel and Port Engineering in 2017 both at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. At that same university, he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies under the tutelage of Albert de la Fuente. The doctoral thesis is focused on the analysis and design of fiber-reinforced concrete structures in industrial applications such as slabs or tunnels.
As a doctoral researcher, Alejandro specializes in the development of nonlinear finite element models. Using these models, it is possible to numerically carry out parametric analyzes in order to develop and improve elements made of special concretes (high-strength concretes and fiber-reinforced concrete).
