Andrea Monserrat López graduated as Civil Engineering in 2015 and obtained the Master’s in Concrete Engineering in 2016 at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). She pursued a PhD in Construction Engineering at the same university under the supervision of Dr. Pedro Miguel and Dr. José Luis Bonet in the area of experimental analysis of shear behavior of reinforced concrete structures. Part of her thesis was conducted at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland), in the Structural Concrete Laboratory (IBeton) headed by the Full Prof. Aurelio Muttoni.
During her doctoral studies, she was involved as a doctoral researcher in a R+D+I National Project coordinated with several Spanish universities (UPV, UPC, UIB and UDC) to the contribution to the extension of the lifetime of existing concrete structures trough an adequate structural evaluation and strengthening with advanced materials.
Her main areas of interest are the design and development of experimental methods for structural behavior analysis of concrete structures, as well as the study of new materials (special concretes) with the aim of introducing them in innovative construction projects.
