Civil and Construction Engineering

Eduardo Galeote graduated as a Construction Engineer in 2012 and finished his Master’s in Structural and Construction Engineering in 2014 at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He enroled the doctoral programme at the same university under the supervision of Dr. Albert de la Fuente and Dr. Ana Blanco and developed his thesis on the design and optimisation of fibre-reinforced concrete, focusing on both the experimental and the numerical study of this material. Part of his thesis was conducted at Loughborough University (United Kingdom) during a research stay of six months. He graduated as doctor cum laude in 2018.

His main areas of interest are the design and development of testing methods, special concretes (self-compacting concrete, high-performance concrete, fibre-reinforced concrete) as well as structural applications and quality control of materials. As a post-doctoral researcher, he conducts his work on R+D projects involving the development and improvement of new materials with the aim of introducing new technologies and advanced materials in construction projects.
